There’s a new attraction in the Carrollton Korea town, namely Oh! Market International Food.
Oh! Market is located at the space that was formerly occupied by Galleria Mart, inside the K Towne Plaza off Hebron Parkway and SH121 in Carrollton.
After Galleria Mart closed, Oh! Market opened January 28th this year.
Oh! Market is well-established Korean/International grocery store chain in the Virginia area, where it has operated for more than 30 years.
After the disappointing exit of Galleria Mart, the expectations for Oh! Market is high among area consumers.
◎ International Market for Every Ethnic Group
Oh! Market is more than just a Korean grocery store. While its base is in the Korean groceries, Oh! Market tailors to every ethnic group.
According to the executive director Kang Kyu Seo, Oh! Market’s strength is in the freshness of products and low prices.
Oh! Market has a strong distribution network and vendor relations, which enables it to secure fresh groceries at low costs.
Oh! Market passes its savings from efficient distribution to its customers, according to Kang.
“We receive items directly from the producers, which enables us to cut down on distribution costs and maintain freshness of groceries. That’s how we provide quality products to our customers at prices that are impossible in today’s economy.”
Oh! Market didn’t have a fanfare grand opening event back in January. But it offered a box of napa cabbage at $5.99 for those who purchase $50 or more. Oh! Market ended up selling out 5 containers’ worth of napa cabbages.
Oh! Market plans to host some type of international food festival in early April.
“Oh! Market made a last-minute decision to take over the Galleria Mart space. So, we didn’t have enough time to prepare for the grand opening. But rest assured, your experience at Oh! Market will be nothing like the one you had with Galleria Mart.” Kang emphasizes.
Kang is a 16-year veteran in the supermarket industry. He set up more than a dozen Korean grocery stores nationwide.
With Kang now in charge of Oh! Market Carrollton location, the expectations are riding high for the new Korean grocery store, where the fresh food is fresh and the prices are low.
